I have been involved in many varied business ventures over the past 30 years. Actually my business experience is more diverse than I even would have imagined when I was younger and includes; dairy farming, engineering, manufacture, sales, mechanical repairs, mechanical design, internet business, holiday accommodation, tourism attractions, financial planning, importing, wholesaling, business planning and network marketing.
When looking back at my business achievement I found two common trends with all my business ventures that made them successful. Passion and motivation, however with that passion and motivation as well as the high demands of the business I was involved with, I also found myself working between 60 to 80 hours a week in my businesses, and not truly achieving a desirable lifestyle. “Yes” I gain enjoyment from the work, however having more time to spend with family and friends would have been even better. Do not get me wrong, I have no regrets on my decisions in life, however if I would of known of different business options available as they became available, I would have probable taken a different path in my business ventures.
As I have got more astute in my older age and with the experience I have gained I have developed the ability to evaluate business options that give more emphasis on lifestyle and income, while still invoking the passion and motivation that make a business successful.
