Network Marketing is a business model that allows ordinary, everyday people the opportunity to start their own home-based business regardless of their; Age, Education, Financial Position, Size, Shape or Skin Colour.

The simplest explanation of network marketing is that it is a method of marketing that utilizes independent representatives to reach potential customers that a company otherwise would not reach with traditional online or offline marketing methods. In the early days of network marketing, before the internet, nearly all network marketing was done via friends and family, which in most cases was a very limited market and thus networking marketing businesses were a secondary income source and not consider a serious business. Some more adventurous distributors got involved in marketing via advertising through such media as; newspapers, magazine, flyers, banner signs and even radio. Many distributors achieved great results with their marketing as they were the few who took their opportunity seriously.

Although these marketing techniques are still used today, they are only a very small part of the Network Marketers techniques. With the advent of the internet, the industry has change forever. Global marketing is now the norm and the need to continually harass family and friends has gone. The industry is now a serious professional business model that has and will continue to create wealth for ordinary people.

Network Marketing is no different to any other business; there are no get rich quick schemes, however there has been and will continue to be new distributors or associates that make an extraordinary income in a short period of time. For a distributor or associate to be successful they must be; dedicated, persistent, have well defined goals, be prepared to invest back into their business and follow up with potential clients.

Network marketing is exactly what the word state “marketing”, and to succeed you must invest into marketing your business and the continually investing back into marketing. Most, if not all, successful Network Marketers reinvest up to 25% of their income back into marketing and get started in the industry with a reasonable marketing budget. It is stated within the industry that it take 90 days to build momentum. You can start producing an income in most opportunities quickly, however to get the full results of you marketing and personal efforts, a 90 day period is normally the accepted timeframe. Thus when considering a Network Marketing opportunity, a budget of equivalent to at least 60 days marketing costs is recommended.
